The relationship between psychological hardiness with anger rumination and aggression among footballers

Abstract
The main objective of the present study is to study the association between psychological hardiness with anger rumination and aggression among football players. This research is a correlation one which is done among East Azerbaijan province of Iran football teams in the Premier and Division One leagues with four teams. All members of the population (n= 92) were selected as statistical sample of the study. The subjects filled standardized questionnaire of anger rumination, Aggression Questionnaire and psychological hardiness questionnaire of Ahvaz. The questionnaires was distributed and 85 completed questionnaires were completed. The data is analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis method and the significance level was α = 0/05. According to the data analysis, it was found that there is a negative significant correlation (r= -0.458) between the anger rumination and mental hardiness. There is also negative significant correlation between aggression and mental hardiness (r=-0.353). Moreover, research findings indicate that there are positive significant correlations between the subscales of anger rumination and indexes of aggression (r=0.821). This study showed that the more players acted by hardiness, more they can manage their anger and less captured in ruminative thoughts. This factor also operating as a source of inner resistance, reduces aggression Negative Impact and prevent physical and mental imprisons. Therefore players show less aggressive behavior.
