Abstract
Dynamic elasticitysolutionforaclamped,laminatedcylindricalshellwithtwoorthotropiclayers bounded withapiezoelectriclayerandsubjectedtoexponentialdynamicloaddistributedoninner surface ispresented.Thepiezoelectriclayerservesassensor/actuator.Thegoverningelasticitypartial differential equationsarereducedtoordinarydifferentialequationsbymeansofLegendrepolynomial expansionfordisplacementandelectricpotentialinaxialdirection.Theresultingequationsarereduced to asystemofODEwithconstantcoefficients bymeansofGalerkin'sintegralmethodand finally the governingequationsaresolvedbyusinglinear finite elementinradialdirection.Thestaticanddynamic results arepresentedfor[0/90/Piezo]lamination.Theratioeffectoftheradiustothicknessondynamic behaviourisstudied.Theresultsarecomparedfordifferentthicknessratiosandappliedelectricloads with simply-supportedshellresults.Timeresponsesforsensorandactuatedshellarepresented
