L-Lysine is one of the nine essential amino acids. This amino acid has an important role in feed industry. On the
other hand, lysine is used as complementary drug in chemotherapy to decrease the side effects the chemicals on
patients. Therefore the production of this amino acid is important in the industry and medicine. In this
investigation we used a wild- type strain of Corynebacterum glutamicum to produce lysine in laboratory. one of
the most important feature of the bacteria is excretion of produced lysine into the growth medium. To find a
proper culture medium, we examined different kind of carbon (Glucose, Sucrose and Glycerol) and nitrogen
sources (urea, yeast extract and NH4SO4), in various quantities, on the production of lysine. Finally, a basic
culture media containing Glucose, Urea, Methionine and some mineral was selected which has a reach medium
with economic cost. Therefore this media is suitable for production of lysine. Furthermore, the optimization of
lysine production in laboratory scale is underway using the designed culture medium.
