In thispaper,chemicalandelectrochemicalgraftcopolymerizationofpyrroleonto
thiophene-functionalizedpolystyrenemulticentermacromonomer(ThPStM)isdescribed.
The polystyrene-g-polypyrrole(PSt-g-PPy) obtainedwascharacterizedbymeansof
Fourier transforminfrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,anditselectroactivitybehaviorwas
verified undercyclicvoltammetricconditionsinacetonitrile(ACN)–tetraethylammonium
tetrafluoroborate(TEAFB)solvent–electrolytecoupleandcomparedwithelectroactivity
behavior ofpurepolypyrrole.Electricalconductivitiesofthesamplesweremeasured
using samplesinwhichtheconductivematerialsweresandwichedbetweentwoNi
electrodes atroomtemperature.Thechemicalcompositionandmolecularweightofthe
PSt-g-PPy graftcopolymerweredeterminedbymeansofelementalanalysis,andgel
permeationchromatography(GPC),respectively.Moreover,thermalbehaviorsofthe
synthesizedpolymerswereinvestigatedbymeansofdifferentialscanningcalorimetry
(DSC),andthermogravimetricanalysis(TGA).
