Title
Runoff parameterization improvement of VIC model
Type of Research Article
Keywords
Hydraulic conductivity; Interception; Modified options; Streamflow simulation
Abstract
In recent years, land surface models allow researchers to better simulate hydrologic response. In spite of such models, the streamflow simulation is sometimes so far to real observed data. In this study, some new formulations have been applied to modify VIC model. The parameterization of unsaturated hydraulic conductivity-moisture variations, maximum amount of water interception-LAI variations, saturated hydraulic conductivity-depth and canopy resistance variations have been changed in order to regard the effective process on streamflow simulation. The modified options when evaluated against the results of current version were able to increase model efficacy.
