Abstract In this study, firstly eggshell membrane was dissolved in thioglycolic acid and acetic acid solution and a homogenous soluble eggshell membrane protein (SEP) was obtained. The prepared SEP was mixed with graphene oxide to prepare GO/SEP nanocomposite. Finally the GO/SEP was reduced to rGO/SEP using hydrazine as a reductant. In the second part of this study, rGO/SEP was used as an efficient adsorbent for the preconcentration and determination of Hg(II) in aqueous samples using anodic stripping voltammetry technique. With optimization of preconcentration and voltammetric conditions, the developed method showed a linear response to mercury in the range 0.5-80 ng mL-1 with detection limit of 0.14 mg mL-1, preconcentration factor of 50 and adsorption capacity of 77 mg g-1. The results prove the suitable performance of the prepared nano-sorbent for the preconcentration and determination of Hg(II). In the third part of this study, GO/SEP nanocomposite was doped with magnetic nanoparticles with co-precipitation method. The resulted GO/SEP/Fe3O4 was used as an efficient nano-sorbent for preconcentration and determination of Malachite green using spectrophotometey method. The resulted method could be used effectively for the determination of Malachite green in the range 0.5-250 ng mL-1 with detection limit of 0.2 ng mL-1. Preconcentration factor and adsorption capacity of the GO/SEP/Fe3O4 were calculated 83.3 and 260.4 mg g-1 respectively.
