High-qualityleadsulfide(PbS)thinfilmsweresynthesizedbychemicalbathdeposition
from twobathswithdifferentcompositions.Oneofthem(bath-І) containedanaqueous
solutionofleadacetate,thiourea,sodiumhydroxide,andthesecond(bath-ІІ) had
additionaltriethanolamine.Theintroductionoftriethanolaminereducedthegrainsize
and increasedtheopticalbandgapofthePbSnanoparticles.Thestructure,morphology,
and opticalpropertiesoftheobtainedfilmswereinvestigatedandcomparedwithrespect
to thedepositiontime.X-raydiffractiondatawereusedtoobtainthecrystallitesize,
latticeconstant,andstrainofthefilms.Atomicforcemicroscopyresultsshowthatthe
roughness andrms-surfaceslopeofthesamplesobtainedfrombath-I(PbS-I)werehigher
than thoseofbath-II(PbS-II)samples.PbSthinfilmswithhighreflectance(61%)inthe
near-infraredregion,whichisimportantinoursolarsystem,wereobtained.Thebandgap,
extinctioncoefficient,andrefractiveindexofthesampleswerecalculated.Furthermore,
Ramananalysiswasperformedandelectricalpropertiesofthesampleswerestudied.
