Abstract
|
This work have been undertaken to study isopiestic vapor pressures at 298.15 K for {yB NaBr+ yC NaCl}(aq) . Measurements were made for both pure (binary) solutions and for the ternary solutions with various ionic strength fractions of NaBr ( 0.1592, 0.3622 and 0.6302). The experimental results were treated by extended forms of Pitzer and McKay-Perring methods. Accordingly using optimized values of the interaction parameters of the extended Pitzer model, activity coefficients of the both constituent salts were calculated and compared well with those evaluated by McKay-Perring method. Finally semi-ideally behavior of this system have been interpreted in terms of iso-activity rule of Zdanovskii.
