Abstract

Having a sound understanding of the relationship between language and culture seems necessary to the process of teaching and learning another language. Due to the significance of the International language today where the echoes of globalization resounds through the worldwide, learning English language is a need for students in non-native context. This phenomenon obliges them to learn it efficiently, despite some cultural challenges, for receiving the significant augmentation of the existing scientific and literary texts and works. This paper seeks to discuss the cultural challenges in English language learning process in non-native context, here Iranian learners, to see how to ameliorate learning process of the learners with extremely different culture to the language being taught, using some strategies like glocal & intercultural one.
