Abstract
The generalizedHeffron–Phillips model(GHPM)foramicrogridcontainingaphotovoltaic(PV)-diesel machine (DM)-inductionmotor(IM)-governor(GV)(PDIG)hasbeendevelopedatthelowvoltagelevel.A GHPM iscalculatedbylinearizationmethodaboutaloadingcondition.AneffectiveMaximumPower Point Tracking(MPPT)approachforPVnetworkhasbeendoneusingslidingmodecontrol(SMC)to maximize outputpower.Additionally,toimprovestabilityofmicrogridformorepenetrationof renewableenergyresourceswithnonlinearload,acomplementarystabilizerhasbeenpresented. Imperialist competitivealgorithm(ICA)isutilizedtodesignofgainsforthecomplementarystabilizer with themultiobjectivefunction.ThestabilityanalysisofthePDIGsystemhasbeencompletedwith eigenvaluesanalysisandnonlinearsimulations.Robustnessandvalidityoftheproposedcontrollerson damping ofelectromechanicalmodesexaminethroughtimedomainsimulationunderinputmechanical torquedisturbances.
