Abstract
This work describes the development of a new micellar solid-phase microextraction (MSPME) fiber based on cetyltrimethylammonium bromide-templated mesoporous silica (CTAB/MCM-41) electrochemically assisted self-assembled [1,2] on copper wire and its application for sensitive determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The fiber coating was characterized by FTIR and SEM techniques. Experimental parameters affecting the extraction efficiency performed using the CTAB/MCM-41 copper fiber was studied in details. The proposed method indicated good linearity in the range 0.01-82.5 μg L-1 with determination coefficients (R2) between 0.992 and 0.995 and limits of detection (LODs) in the range 3-46 ng L-1 (based on S/N=3). Relative standard deviations (RSD %) of the method were obtained in the range 3.1-8.3 %. Due to cost effective and simplicity, the proposed method could be used for trace analysis of PAHs in environmental samples.
