Abstract
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and a third of cancers in women world-wide are included. BRCA1 gene is known as a tumor suppressor gene which the absence of it can be leads to varied damage in the genome. Thus, changes in the BRCA1 gene expression can lead to vulnerability mammary cells to function as oncogenes. The aim of this study was to investigate mutations in exon 11- A BRCA1 gene in Azerbaijani women with breast cancer. In this study of 40 patients with breast cancer that when surgery had a age of forty years and lower, get blood samples and exons 11-A BRCA1 gene were studied. PCR and direct sequencing methods were used for this study. In this paper, two synonymous mutations and two nonsynonymous mutations were identified that are new and for the first time, were reported: Mutation Arg 584 Arg, which were observed in two samples and Ser 589 Thr mutations were observed in two samples.
