Azo Schiff-base ligands contain both azo and imine units. These compounds are especial structures in several fields such as medicinal, pharmaceutical and coordination chemistry. A variety of biological activitiesincluding antifungal, antibacterial, antitumor, pesiticidal, antiviral and anti-inflammatory has been known for both Schiff-base and azo compounds [1-2]. These compounds can be used as sensors. They change colour of solution or maxima of the absorption band when they intract with cations and onions [3]. Therefore, these compounds are popular. They are widely synthesized and studied.
Here, we report synthesis and characterization of two new hosts based on anazophenol-imine platform with several techniques such as FT-IR spectroscopy, 1H NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
