Nano-structures of the NiFe-layered double hydroxides (NiFe-LDHs) have been synthesized via ultrasonic irradiation in three molar ratios (2:1, 3:1 and 4:1) and three different reaction times (1h, 2h and 3h). The prepared nano-structures were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). This study demonstrates that sonochemistry is a suitable method for preparation of LDH nano-structures with different morphology, without change in structure and no impurity. Cyclic voltammetry (CV), charge-discharge mesurments and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to study the electrochemical properties of the prepared NiFe-LDH nanostructures in supercapacitor application in 6M KOH solution.
