In this study, the MoS4 Cu4 (PzMe3 )6 Cl2 is synthesized and its optical nonlinear responses are investigated in the regime of low laser power using a continuous wave He-Ne (632.8 nm, 35 mW). The single beam z-scan method is used to measurements. The values of the nonlin- ear refraction and nonlinear absorption coefficient are measured to be 4.09 × 10−9 m2 W−1 and 0.03 mW−1 respectively. The third order nonlinear susceptibility is found to be in the order of 10−6 esu. The experimental observations of the self focusing effect and the far-filed diffraction ring patterns are reported.
