Title Phase-Shifted Active Clamp Flyback Converter For Driving a Magnetron
Type of Research Presentation
Keywords Magnetron; High-Voltage Power Supply; Active-Clamp; Phase-shifted; Series-resonant
Abstract This paper presents a phase-shifted active clamp flyback DC/DC converter 1.6 kW (4 kV, 400 mA) for driving magnetron of sulfur plasma lamp. In the presented paper, a high gain boost flyback converter is used to achieve High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS). An active clamp topology was utilized to decrease the main switch stress. Also, a series-resonance circuit has provided the soft switching conditions. In addition, using the phase-shifted technique for adjusting the beam current and voltage. The power supply, depending on the required power, can control the peak and average power in minimum-loss condition. The power of the HVPS delivered by the proposed method reached 1.6 kW with variable average power of 200 ∼ 400 W by adjusting Enable-time proportionally.
