Abstract
The grief resulted from losing someone or something dear can be very overwhelming. One must be able to overcome this grief to continue with life. Death as a part of life can be best observed in Nature in many forms like the changing of the seasons. In fall and winter, everything is dead, but in spring and summer, there is life everywhere. As a result, Nature not only teaches the concept of death and grief but also yields ways to cope with it by showing that life always goes on. It can also provide solace in grief by helping the bereaved form new bonds with Natural elements like animals, trees, or the landscape and feel comfort in Nature. Literature, as an intellectual frame of reference to human thoughts and emotions, is preferred by poets and authors to represent their profound emotions such as grief. It is no surprise that they use Nature for both portraying this feeling and supplying a coping mechanism. Ecocriticism, which is the study of literature and the environment, is the most quickly developing theory of environmental research and teaching. Due to a wide range of literary works benefiting from environmental elements in them and using grief as their theme, the need for studying the role of Nature in coping with grief becomes prominent.
