Abstract
In this study, hollow fber supported liquid phase microextraction (HF-LPME) as a simple and efcient method was used for the preconcentration of Co(II), Fe(III) and Al(III) in water and dried tea leave samples prior to their liquid chromato -graphic determination as for their oxinate chelates. In the HF-LPME process, toluene was used as the acceptor phase, and 8-hydroxyquinoline (8-HQ) was used as a chelating agent. The efect of various experimental parameters on the extraction efciency including acceptor solvent, stirring rate, ligand concentration, salting-out efect and extraction time were inves -tigated and optimized. The calibration graphs were linear in the range of 1–300 µg L −1 and 0.8–250 µg L −1 for Co(II) and Al(III), respectively. The linear dynamic range for Fe(III) was 1–100 µg L −1 and 100–250 µg L −1 for low concentration and high concentration levels of Fe(III), respectively. Limits of detection (LOD) were in the range of 0.38–0.81 µg L −1 . The relative standard deviations (RSD%) for three replicate determinations and the relative recoveries in diferent real samples were obtained 2.68%–4.58% and 88.0–104%, respectively.
