In this work, a green extraction method was developed for determination of trace amount of As(V) in various water samples. This method is based on the formation of β-molybdoarsenate blue complex followed by cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) based microextraction. The analysis of final extraction phase was done using spectrophotometric measurement at λmax = 810 nm. The effects of different parameters on the micrextraction and the complex formation were investigated and optimized. Under optimized conditions, the linear range was obtained 10-90 μg L⁻¹ with a correlation coefficient of 0.997 and limit of detection (LOD) was 0.17 μg L⁻¹. Relative standard deviations for determination of 10 and 50 μg L-1 As(V) were obtained 2.1 and 3.9% for six replicates, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied for determination of As(V) in various water samples with satisfactory recovery ranged from 89 to 95%.
