Abstract
|
The aim of the research is to investigate the relationship between vocabulary learning strategies and vocabulary
knowledge of Iraqi EFL learners. The study also intends to explore Iraqi EFL learners’ vocabulary learning potential by
resorting to vocabulary strategy use. By understanding Iraqi EFL students' tendency toward different types of vocabulary
learning strategies, and establishing a relationship between types of vocabulary learning strategies and the two types of
vocabulary knowledge, teachers and researchers can design effective teaching materials and activities that help improve L2
learners’ vocabulary competencies.
