Abstract

The present study intends to investigate different versions of one story in different cultures and contexts to elaborate on the qualifications and characteristics under the focus of each product and explore the probable reasons for the story being trendy for so many years. The vast results of Cinderella-containing titles of movies in one website, from the point of view of the present research, can be representative of the visibility and the agency of the translators and would respect their miscellaneous ideologies. With the development of Translation Studies and with the help of postcolonial and feminist translations, translators now seem to be in better positions than before. They are not considered subservient to the original products and their intelligence, understanding, and creativity are respected by many people. Thus, various adaptations and re-conceptualizations have taken place without the subject being dull and tedious.
The necessity of the present study and studies alike is in their prolonged precious impacts on the ways of looking at other works that are inspired by old or pre-published narratives. Adaptations, too, take time and effort and can be beneficial in some studies; for instance, in the present study, it is rather apparent in the ways of depicting women, what the common belief was about them before, and what it is now. One other remarkable achievement of such studies, which is mentioned above, is the agency of translators and interpreters. Every version of Cinderella appears to have its fans and audiences, and, searching through the comments and critiques on different websites, approximately no one called any of the versions parasitic or so-called adjectives, to the researcher’s best knowledge. These achievements can generate a broader and deeper look at the notion of translation and adaption studies and their potential to grow and evolve even more.
