Abstract

In the course of investigating the eriophyoid mites’ fauna (Acari: Eriophyoidea) in Northwest Iran, one new eriophyid species, Aceria lactulignae sp. nov. was discovered and described. The new species was collected on Lactuca saligna L. (Asteraceae) as vagrant mite and no apparent symptom was observed. This is the third eriophyoid mite to be associated with this host plant genus around the world.
