Abstract
Abstract Sprint and plyometric exercises play an important role in sports like volleyball needing high anaerobic power. 48 male samples, aged 18 to 23 years, were selected from national league players in 2013, held in Khuzestan province in a totally random way and were then divided into four groups (plyometric, sprint, compound and control), each of which included 12 members. The findings indicate that all three training exercises significantly increased participants’ anaerobic power; however, the effects of 10-week compound training (plyometric plus sprint exercises) on anaerobic power of elite volleyball players was significantly more than the sprint and plyometric training program separately. Selective compound exercises (plyometric + sprint) have more significant effects on agility and vertical jump factors.
