This study investigates the correlation between reading motivation, self-efficacy, and reading proficiency within the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Grounded in Bandura’s self-efficacy theory and motivational frameworks by Ryan & Deci and Gardner, the research adopts a quantitative correlational design. Data are collected using standardized instruments, including the Motivation for Reading Questionnaire (MRQ), a self-efficacy scale adapted for EFL reading tasks, and a reading comprehension test based on Key English Test (KET) materials. Pearson correlation analysis is employed to examine the interrelationships among the variables. The study aims to identify key affective factors that contribute to successful reading outcomes and provide practical insights for educators seeking to enhance learners’ motivation and confidence. Ultimately, the findings are expected to deepen understanding of the psychological and cognitive dynamics underlying literacy development in EFL contexts.
