چکیده
The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of varying activated charcoal (AC) concentrations on the in vitro rooting of Cymbidium lowianum. Seedlings were cultured on Murashige & Skoog (MS) medium amended with 0 (control), 1, 2, 3, 5, or 6 g L⁻¹ AC. After four weeks of incubation under controlled conditions, mean root length and root number per plantlet were recorded. Results demonstrated a pronounced, concentration‐dependent enhancement of both parameters: the highest rooting response—an average root length of 8.3 cm and 5 roots per plantlet—was observed at 5 g L⁻¹ AC. One‐way analysis of variance revealed significant differences among treatments (p < 0.05), and Fisher’s LSD test confirmed that the 5 g L⁻¹ AC treatment differed significantly from all other concentrations. These findings suggest that incorporating AC at approximately 5 g L⁻¹ into MS medium markedly improves in vitro root induction in C. lowianum.
