Industrial wastewater contamination with organic dyes, especially neutral red dye, is a serious threat to the environment and human health. Traditional water treatment methods cannot completely remove these dyes. In this study, the application of a novel hybrid nanocatalyst based on MIL-101 in the sono-Fenton process for the treatment of colored wastewater is investigated. This nanocatalyst acts as a heterogeneous catalyst and increases the production of active oxidizing radicals upon irradiation with ultrasound waves. The main goal is to increase the efficiency of dye degradation and reduce chemical pollutants in the wastewater. The effects of parameters such as pH, catalyst amount, oxidant concentration, and reaction time are investigated. Also, the reaction kinetics and the degree of dye removal will be quantitatively evaluated. The stability and reusability of the catalyst are also studied. The results of this research are expected to provide an effective, sustainable, and environmentally friendly method for treating colored wastewater
