چکیده
Abstract Introduction: Osteopenia is a metabolic bone disease associated with factors such as low physical activity, structural changes in the skeleton and an increased risk of falls. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of concurrent exercise on postural stability and fall risk in postmenopausal women with osteopenia. Methods: In this experimental study, 30 women with osteopenia (T-score between -1 and -2.5) and an average age of 61.25 ± 4.1 years were randomly assigned to either an exercise group or a control group. The training group completed a combined aerobic (40-70% HRR) and resistance training programme, each lasting 90 minutes, three days a week for 12 weeks. Data analysis was performed using ANCOVA, with the significance level set at P < 0.05. Results: After 12 weeks of intervention, significant improvements in overall postural stability and fall risk were observed in participants (p = 0.001, p = 0.035). Conclusion: Combined training can effectively improve postural stability and reduce the risk of falls in women with osteopenia. Future research should investigate training programs with higher intensity and longer duration.
