During field surveys of eriophyoid mites in East Azerbaijan and Razavi Khorasan Provinces (Iran) in summer 2023, two new eriophyid (Acari: Eriophyoidea: Eriophyidae) species were discovered, described and illustrated. They are Aceria tragodubii sp. nov. on Tragopogon dubius Scop. and Metaculus lepidaffghani sp. nov. on Lepidium affghanum Boiss. (Brassicaceae). We provided the partial 28S nuclear gene sequences for these two new species. No visible symptoms were observed in two host plants. This is the first record of eriophyoid mites from Lepidium affghanum Boiss. and the first record of a species belonging to the genus Metaculus Keifer, 1962 from Iran.
