چکیده
Most Gram-negative phytopathogens produce diffusible quorum sensing (QS) signaling molecules, known as Acyl homoserine lactones (AHLs), to control virulence genes expression. In contrast, some competitor microorganisms could inactive/degrade AHLs. The enzymatic AHL degradation is one of the most known mechanisms of quorum quenching (QQ). Two major AHL degrading enzymes are AHL-lactonase (AiiA) and AHL-acylases (PvdQ). AHL acylases break the amide linkage of AHLs. So far; no reports are available on PvdQ homologous protein identification from plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB). So In this study, the amino acid sequences of the Pseudomonas fluorescens PvdQ (AJP52504.1) was used as query sequences and a BLASTp search was conducted against 83 bacterial genera, known as plant growth promoters. Results with score>80 coverage>50% and E-value <10-4 were considered as significant for this study. Since the names of genera was retrieved from previous studies of 16S ribosomal RNA sequence-based identification of PGPB to the genus level, the isolation source of positive results were checked using BioSample database. Plant associated species of soil were considered as a positive result. Overall 17 genera had known AHL-acylases and 7 genera possessed hypothetical proteins. So there is a possibility of using them as biocontrol agents in agriculture with further investigation.
