Soft fine-grained deposits usually have very low strength and high compressibility and often they must be stabilized. Moreover, they may experience considerable reduction in strength when they subject to freeze-thaw phenomenon in cold regions. This paper study the effect of CBR-Plus liquid polymeric additive on the properties of Tabriz olivaceous fine-grained soil and mixture of this soil with 2.0% lime under unfrozen and freeze-thaw conditions. For this purpose, a series of unconfined compression and freeze-thaw tests were performed on the specimens. It is observed that, in unfrozen condition, CBR-Plus stabilization does not have any significant effect on the soil strength, whereas simultaneously addition of CBR-Plus and lime to the soil gains the strength about 43.65%. In freeze-thaw condition, strength of all samples degrades noticeably, and CBR-Plus stabilized samples experience more reduction than natural ones. Also, the strength of lime-stabilized samples is slightly more than the similar ones including just CBR-Plus. CBR-Plus stabilized samples exhibit proper stability as subjected to freeze-thaw cycles, while addition of CBR-Plus to lime stabilized soil causes incredible decrement in stability of samples.
