Among the different technologies, solar energy has the unique potential to meet the energy demands. 1 In order to replace the use of fossil fuels and petroleum, the conversion of Sunlight energy into electrical energy seems as one of the most promising solutions for the energy tension problem. Today, Dye-sensitized Solar Cells have attracted much attention because of their low cost. 2
layered double hydroxides (LDHs), have been a subject of numerous investigations during last three decades. Calcined LDH always produced mixed metal oxides (MMOs) which is considered to be a good electrode material to make the dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) because of high purity and good quality control in manufacture on a large scale.3
In this study, the TiO2/ Zn-Al- LDH nanocomposite was prepared by co-precipitation method. Our prepared solids were characterized by chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS). The TiO2@Zn-Al LDH was employed as a photo anode in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). For solar cell device based on TiO2@Zn-Al LDH, the open circuit voltage was 0.81, and the short-circuit current was 2.63 V and a fill factor (FF) of 0.7, and the solar-to-electricity conversion efficiency of 1.51%
