The sharp fluctuations of load consumption
5 and renewable power generation make significant risks in
6 microgrids (MG) planning problem. In order to handle the
7 risk, this paper proposes an innovative risk-based bilevel
8 model for optimal planning of MGs under uncertainty. Fur9
thermore, two different risk neutral and risk averse strate10
gies are defined for MGs operator to investigate the impact
11 of risk strategies on the MG planning problem. The pro12
posed problem has been formulated as stochastic bilevel
13 model, where the optimal planning of distributed energy
14 resource accomplishes in the upper level and optimum
15 switch allocation problem for partitioning traditional distri16
bution system into a number of MGs carries out in the lower
17 level. The partitioning traditional distribution system into
18 interconnected MGs is implemented considering economic,
19 technical, reliability, andmaximumsupply security aspects.
20 Cuckoo optimization algorithm and imperialist competitive
21 algorithm are applied to minimize the objective functions of
22 upper and lower levels, respectively. The simulation study
23 is performed on the PG&E 69-bus distribution system and
24 the consequent discussions demonstrate the adequacy and
25 efficiency of the proposed methodology.
