چکیده
Simple, chip and rapid analytical methods are required in biomedical analysis. The present work aimed to provide a new, simple, precise and efficient method for the determination of Fe3+ ions in human serum samples using Mg-Al layered double hydroxide intercalated with salicylic acid (Mg-Al LDH–SA) as a sensitive fluorescence sensor. The Mg-Al LDH–SA was synthesized and characterized via X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy and FTIR. Due to the complex formation between Fe3+ ions and salicylic acid, the fluorescence intensity of Mg-Al LDH–SA is decreased in the presence of Fe3+ ions. The spectrofluorimetric determination of Fe3+ ions using Mg-Al LDH–SA was investigated by measuring the decrease in fluorescence intensity of salicylic acid, which is decreased linearly by addition of Fe3+ ion solution at λem=405 nm with excitation at λex=287 nm. Some important parameters such as salicylic acid concentration, amount of nano-material, pH and interaction time were optimized. The linear range was observed in the concentration range of 0.1–200 μM with the corresponding detection limits of 52 nM. The effects of foreign ions were investigated. The method was successfully applied to estimate the ferric ion in human serum.
