Recently, various industries have used new coating technology to protect equipment against corrosive agents. This technology includes the use of nanocomposites with high chemical resistance, high thermal and electrical performance. Synthesis of nanocomposite with these properties is accomplished by polymerization, casting and melting methods.
The main mechanism to protect equipment against corrosion, is the high mechanical strength and barrier properties crated by nanocomposite coatings. Therefore, various reinforcements have been used in the base polymers to improve these properties. In this paper, various types of epoxy base nanocomposites with different nanostructured reinforcements have been investigated for application in corrosion protection
