The genus Alkanna belongs to the family Boraginaceae and consists of more than of 50 species widely distributed
in Western Asia, Mediterranean, and Europe [1]. In Iranian folk medicine, the antinociceptive, wound healing, and
anti-inflammatory properties of Alkanna have been mentioned as a treatment for inflammatory, wound bandage injuries, and
pain-related ailments [2–4]. Also, the species of this genus have biological activity such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and
analgesic properties [1, 5, 6].
