In this research, zinc oxide nanoparticles were prepared using the aqueous extract e of Platanus orientalis leaves by green synthesis method. The obtained nanoparticles were investigated by various techniques such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis), X-ray Diffraction Pattern (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) images. The results showed that prepared zinc oxide nanoparticles crystallize in the wurtzite structure with high crystallinity, have spherical morphology and their approximate size is 30 nm. Finally, the investigation of the antibacterial properties of zinc oxide nanoparticles showed that these nanoparticles have moderate antimicrobial effects on the studied Gram-positive bacteria (E. coli, P. areuginosa and B. subtilis). In Gram-negative bacteria, at a concentration of 1 mg/ml, it is effective on E.Coli, but not on P. areuginosa
