In this study, four different geometries with the same volume were investigated on a laboratory scale using the FLOW3-D. Then, the impact of the wave number has been examined. The wave means periods range from 0.63 to 1.26 seconds and the significant wave has 0.04 to 0.12 meters in height. The numerical results were verified against experimental data of a pontoon breakwater in which reasonable agreements were achieved between them. A number of triangular cogs are made at the bottom of floating structures. The numerical results show that making these variations can improve the efficiency of these structures up to 44.01%.
