Theoretically, the present study might contribute to translation studies by developing and expanding the new world Kirkpatrick model within the discipline. It is worth noting that this model, which has been rarely used in research on translator training, offers a thorough framework for evaluating the effectiveness of training at different levels: reaction, learning, behavior, and results. It is believed that the current study holds several practical contributions. First, translator trainers can possibly benefit from the findings of the study, as it sheds light on the extent to which what is taught in the classroom gets applied on the job, especially in the context of Iran. Second, the findings from the current study may add not only to our limited knowledge of Iranian MA translation students and graduates’ current technological competence but may also reveal whether or not they are encouraged by their employers to implement what they have learned. Third, the findings obtained from this study might help uncover the perceived positive results and outcomes of the training. Additionally, syllabus designers and curriculum developers can potentially derive benefits from the findings of the study by improving the courses and programs on translation technology and maximizing the on-the-job application of skills taught in the training courses.
