This thesis research leverages these advanced materials by focusing on the synthesis of a novel, environmentally friendly adsorbent. The new material will be a nanocomposite based on cellulose, a sustainable and biocompatible natural polymer, combined with carbon nanofiber. This composite will be designed and utilized for the specific purpose of extracting hazardous heavy metal ions from samples. The extraction process will be coupled with differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry to enable the sensitive measurement of the target metals.
