In the present work, a composite of the nanostructured carbon black (NCB) decorated with Pd nanoparticles is prepared by spontaneous deposition without using any reducing agent. The PdNPs/NCB composite was characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy to describe its crystal phases, surface morphology, nanostructure properties and composition. The obtained electrocatalyst, PdNPs/NCB on the carbon ceramic electrode (PdNPs/NCB/CCE) was used for ethanol electrooxidation in alkaline media.
