The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of a 12-week recreational soccer program on lipid profile levels (HDL, LD, TG and total cholesterol) in obese young women. The implementation method of this experimental research and its design included pre-test-post-test with a control group. The participants were 40 young obese women with an average age of 29.11±2.3 years and a body mass index above 30 kg/m2, who were randomly assigned to two experimental (N=20) and control (N=20) groups. The experimental group participated in the recreational soccer program for 12 weeks and two 60-minute sessions each week. The control group did not do any sports activities. Research variables were measured before and after the intervention. Multivariate covariance analysis showed that the 12-week recreational soccer program decreased LDL levels (P=0.003), increased HDL levels (P=0.001), decreased TG (P=0.001) and decreased total cholesterol levels (P=0.001). =P) in the experimental group, while no significant changes were observed in the control group. The results show that playing recreational football in the form of smaller games can be a good way to increase participation and improve lipid profile levels in obese young women. The results of this research can be used as evidence for designing and implementing physical activity programs based on team and recreational games to improve the health of obese women
