In this work we study the existence of homoclinic orbits of the planer system of Li´enard type x˙ = h(y − F(x)) and y˙ = −g(x) where h is strictly increasing and h(±1) = ±1. We present sufficient and necessary conditions for this system to have homoclinic orbits. The conditions obtained are very sharp.
