Abstract
This study aimed to determine the prevalence of risk behaviors among high school students in
the city of Mahabad and demographic factors related with it has done. This is an applied and
descriptive – correlation research. The population of this study included all high school students
Mahabad , who 9882 people altogether. The sampling method was a stratified and the study sample
was determined to be 370 people by using Morgan Table. The data were collected through risk
behavior questionnaire. The validity of questionnaire was endorsed by the professors. The reliability of
questionnaire with coefficient obtained for all components was 0.85. 7/19%, and 4/12% of students,
respectively, helmet and seat belt are not used. 6/48%, and 9/41%, respectively, without the
Certificates, cars and motorcycles are driven. 24% in the last 12 months have been accompanied by
stabbing, 22% in the past month have school stabbing, 4/65% in the last 12 months has been physical
violence and 38% in the past 12 months were injured. 12% and 21% respectively have been smoking
Cigarette and Hookah. 5/19% students to more stay awake, drug-taking and 6/21% of them are taking
sedative drugs. 4/18% of them had used substances such as ice crystals and 6/8% substances such as X,
angel dust and LSD have used. 2/6%, 1/5% 18/19%, respectively, at least once, grass, opium - heroin
and alcohol have been consumed. 41% of students never talk about sex with their parents or others
have not, and 8/37% so far in the case of transmission of HIV are undirected and 7/41% in the past
month unethical movie watched. 10% of students compared to their peers, their too fat or too thin, and
they 5/29% have attempted to reduce or increase their weight. 34% in the past month have exercises for
weight loss and 11% of them have lost their meal and 25% on a non-closure of more than 5 hours
