Since Written texts across various disciplines have significant linguistic variations, this research study is an effort to investigate linguistic complexity features in research articles specifically discussion sections in three various disciplines. Additionally, it aims to compare linguistic complexity used in local journals with high impact international journals. The general purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in measures of syntactic and lexical complexity in the discussion sections of research articles in three different disciplines. the findings of this study can be useful for academic writing research as well as EAP and ESP teachers and practitioners.
