The aim of this research is to investigate the socio-cultural structure of feminist discourse that is the socio-cultules components of which Puritan beliefs regarding individual, society, and social norms in The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne of the novels under analysis is composed. I will also identify the major socio-cultural strategies employed in the opening, maintaining and ending stages of the under analysis, as Puritan beliefs regarding individual and society, social norms in The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne as well as the most common literary strategies appealed to in each of the aforementioned stages of the novels investigated in the current study. Moreover, I will Investigate the socio-literary strategies utilized by writers to achieve each function of Puritan beliefs regarding individual and society, and social norms in The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne as criticism. Further, I will show whether there are differences in the use of the strategies used for achieving the different functions of the feminist discourse. It will be revealed whether whether the literary strategies mentioned above have contributed to some of the major themes of the novel under scrutiny.
