ضرورت و اهمیت پژوهش
1.2. Significance of the study
Particular characteristics of EFL young learners make it apparent why assessment techniques of such a population figures heavily in the EFL curriculums. EFL young learners are growing different from adult learners in social, emotional, and cognitive dimensions. Therefore, assessors must be careful utilizing popular techniques assessing adult learners' language abilities in young language learners' contexts.
Research into the assessment of young learners' language abilities in general and listening skill in particular needs to get more insight into the appropriateness of assessment procedures (McKay, 2006). One of such studies could be evaluating current ways of assessment or developing some new ways for these learners. Also, some traditional assessment procedures might be able to work out well with this special population and assessors should not neglect regarding some assessment procedures such as C-tests.
