The present Study gains significance as the findings can shed more light on Black American literature in general, and on Morrison’s novels which play a major role in American racial society, in particular. This study is important for its application of trauma theory in literature on Morrison`s selected works which reflect the concepts such as racism, abuse, discrimination, especially, gender discrimination as realities and aspects of Black life leading to traumatic situations. This study encompasses the possibility of further investigation on Morrison’s autobiographies and novels which provide a huge domain for studying Black literature and the concept of trauma woven in it through the lens of trauma theory and also on other works within this framework.
