چکیده
The significance of this study is multifaceted, offering valuable insights and contributions to the fields of language education, second language acquisition, and technology-enhanced learning. By investigating the impact of AI-assisted learning on Iranian EFL learners' speaking performance and the moderating role of self-regulation, this research has the potential to deepen our understanding of how cutting-edge technology can be leveraged to enhance language learning outcomes. In particular, this study will address gaps in the existing literature by examining how learners' self-regulatory processes interact with AI-supported learning environments to influence their speaking proficiency. The findings may inform the development of more effective instructional strategies that capitalize on AI-based tools while simultaneously nurturing learners' self-regulatory abilities. Moreover, this research has important implications for language educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers, who seek to optimize language instruction and create engaging learning experiences that cater to the needs of diverse learners. Ultimately, this study aims to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of AI-assisted language learning and its potential to empower EFL learners in their quest to master speaking skills and become autonomous, self-regulated learners.
